” How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power and Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38)
When the Lord first called us into healing and deliverance ministry 30 years ago we were just babes in Christ. We didn’t have a clue as to what, where, or how God was going to use us. All we knew was that we wanted to see women saved, healed and truly set free! We knew that Jesus purchased our freedom and that the enemy was trying to keep us in a state of depression, suppression and oppression.
The scripture above talks about how Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. Just for clarification oppression is different from possession. In order for a person to be possessed they must willingly give full control to a demonic spirit. A Christian can not be possessed because their spirit has been born again and we are not our own but bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus. Oppression, however, seems to be running rampant in the body of Christ. The definition for oppression is “to crush or burden by abuse of power or authority” or “to burden spiritually or mentally something that weighs heavily upon”. With this method of burden and weight the enemy has been most successful.
The devil wants to weigh you down, to burden you with all the cares of this world. He wants you to lose sleep over your children, your marriage, your finances and even your health. He likes flooding your mind with thoughts of defeat, hurts from the past, unforgiveness, anger towards other and feelings of inadequacies. DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM. He is already defeated and Jesus has already overcome all these things for us.
When we minister to people that yoke destroying anointing comes upon us and we sense that people want to be free. The Bible says in Luke 10:19 “Behold I give you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. The same anointing that God gave to Jesus and then He gave to His disciples is upon you. You have all the power you need to stop that dumb devil from hurting you because He said “….nothing shall by any means hurt you”.
Read again Acts 10:38 and know that the SAME Spirit and power that was on Jesus Christ who went about doing good and healing all who were OPPRESSED of the devil dwells in you! You have been made free so make up your mind to live free, walk free and be free in Jesus Name!
